Azerbaijan informed the ambassador that Baku is not satisfied with Russia's policy

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has protested against Russia's allegedly unfriendly actions. This is evidenced by a statement on the website of the Azerbaijani ministry on July 2.

"The Russian side was asked to take appropriate measures to eliminate tension and negative sentiments in bilateral relations between our countries," the statement said.

It is also noted that the factors that have affected the deterioration of bilateral relations between the states should be investigated.

On the same day, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry summoned Russian Ambassador Mikhail Evdokimov.

At the same time, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that friendly relations are extremely important for Russia and Azerbaijan. She clarified that Moscow is calling on Baku to take measures to return the countries' relations to the level of strategic alliance.
