The total number of mortgage loan applications in June 2025 increased by 15.2% compared to the previous month, analysts of the TYMY platform told Izvestia on July 3.

According to analysts, the dynamics in the primary housing segment turned out to be slightly more positive, with an increase of 19.9%. In the secondary market, the volume of mortgage applications remained almost at the level of May, adding only 3.28% compared to the previous month. The ratio of applications in the segment of new buildings to the secondary market was 75% to 25%.

"Following the decision of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation to revise the key interest rate, banks also revised mortgage market rates, many announced a decrease of 1-3%. Considering that the last time the key rate decreased was a long time ago, in September 2022, there was a small chance that the decrease would provoke an increase in demand," added Alexander Perevoznikov, head of the Tymy.Realty project.

According to him, this has not happened in practice — for most borrowers, rates remain too high and many prefer to rent a house or postpone the issue of buying an apartment indefinitely.

Earlier, on January 9, Izvestia got acquainted with a study by the Aeroplane company, which reported on the mandatory amenities of Russians when buying an apartment. According to experts, in the new year Muscovites want to buy apartments with dressing rooms (23%), built-in closets (15%), additional outlets on the balcony (13%), a second bathroom (12%), a master bedroom (9%) and a niche for a washing machine (8%).
