In Tolyatti, seven teenagers of a local gymnasium, who sang a song about the leader of the Ukrainian nationalists Stepan Bandera, repented of what had happened. This was announced on July 2 in the press service of the Tolyatti classical gymnasium.

"Knowing the deep remorse of all graduates who visited Victory Park on their own, regretting the irresponsible act they committed, we are convinced that they will remember the lesson they have learned for the rest of their lives and will never repeat such a thing in the future," the message on the VKontakte social network says.

According to the statement of the gymnasium's teaching staff, the students allegedly did not attach importance to the banned Ukrainian song performed against the background, but then stopped their classmate, who was voicing it. At the same time, as the 11th grade graduates themselves said, they also listened to the Russian National Anthem.

On June 30, law enforcement agencies began checking after a video of teenagers in Tolyatti singing a song about Bandera and the anthem of Ukraine. A criminal case was also initiated in accordance with Part 3 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Rehabilitation of Nazism"). Shortly after, seven teenagers between the ages of 17 and 18 were identified.
