In Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk region), grenades from the Civil War were found on one of the garden plots. This was reported to the news agency " <url>" by the press service of the Rosgvardiya region.

A local resident made a dangerous find. The arrived explosives experts of the Rosgvardiya OMON examined the garden plot, took out the discovered grenades and defused them.

"After conducting the study, combat grenades were transported by special vehicle to the landfill in compliance with all safety measures and destroyed with an overhead charge," the department said.

The destroyed ammunition consisted of 37 mm armor-piercing fragmentation steel grenades, which were intended for the guns of the Hotchkiss system and their modifications, known as the Rosenberg cannon. These guns have been in service with the Russian army since 1915.

The news agency clarifies that in 1918, in the current territory of Nizhny Tagil and its environs, clashes took place between units of the Red Army and the White Guards. Experts do not rule out that the finds made in the gardens could have lain in the ground for more than a hundred years.

In the first decade of June, a shell from the Great Patriotic War was discovered in Sysert, Sverdlovsk region. An unexploded artillery shell with a head fuse was found in a cottage settlement during construction work on the site.
