Iran has closed its airspace to transit flights over the central and western regions of the state. This was reported on July 2 in the Mehr Telegram channel with reference to the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.

"In accordance with the decision of the coordination committee of the Civil Aviation Organization and security checks, in the current situation, the skies of the central and western half of the country are again closed for international flights," the statement said.

Despite this, the airspace over the eastern regions of the state is open for domestic, international and transit flights from Iran.

On June 27, it was reported that Aeroflot plans to resume flights from Moscow to Tehran from July 4 this year. On the same day, the Federal Air Transport Agency gave permission to Russian airlines to operate flights in the airspace of Iran, Iraq and Jordan. At the same time, experts will continue to monitor the situation in the region.
