Orban welcomed the phone conversation between Putin and Macron


Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban praised the telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and French Leader Emmanuel Macron. On July 2, the Hungarian Prime Minister posted a corresponding post on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
"Finally!!! <...> The main thing is negotiations. We need diplomats, not generals!" he wrote, commenting on the publication about the resumption of dialogue between the leaders of the Russian Federation and France.
Orban added that the conflict in Ukraine can be resolved only through negotiations.
Putin and Macron had a telephone conversation on July 1. During the conversation, the heads of state noted that Moscow and Paris bear a special responsibility for maintaining peace in the Middle East. In addition, the presidents discussed the Ukrainian conflict. According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Putin's talks with his French counterpart were very informative.
