The first factory of cartridges for Kalashnikov assault rifles was built in Venezuela


Rostec State Corporation has completed the construction of the first stage of a factory for the production of cartridges for Kalashnikov assault rifles (AK) in Venezuela. Information about this was published on the official website of the corporation on July 2.
"Rosoboronexport, a company owned by Rostec State Corporation, has completed the construction of the first stage of a factory for the production of 7.62 mm caliber cartridges for Kalashnikov assault rifles in Venezuela," the statement said.
It is noted that the company will be able to produce up to 70 million rounds per year and will be equipped with four modern production lines, which will significantly increase Venezuela's defense potential.
"Our immediate plans include the completion of the second stage of the enterprise, after which the full technological chain of production will be implemented," said Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport.
In addition, Oleg Yevtushenko, Rostec's executive director, told reporters that there are plans to open a plant in Venezuela for the production of AK-103 Kalashnikov assault rifles.
On June 17, the head of Rostec, Sergey Chemezov, announced that the state corporation's revenue in 2024 increased by 27%, amounting to more than 3 trillion rubles. Chemezov also noted a 119% increase in net profit. According to him, at the moment it amounts to 131.5 billion rubles.
