The refusal of the Iranian leadership to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is a violation of international obligations, and the countries of the Eurotroika (E3) need to re-impose sanctions against Tehran. This was announced on June 2 by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar.

"This is (the termination of cooperation with the IAEA. — Ed.) Iran's complete renunciation of all its international nuclear obligations," The Times of Israel quoted Saar as saying.

The Israeli Foreign Minister called for the activation of the so—called return mechanism and the restoration of all sanctions against Iran by the E3 participants - Germany, France and the United Kingdom.

"The international community must act decisively now and use all means at its disposal to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions," he added.

On July 2, Iranian President Masoud Peseshkian issued a decree suspending cooperation with the IAEA. At the same time, the deputy head of Iran's judiciary suggested that the issue of a possible trial of the agency's head, Rafael Grossi, "belongs to international affairs and should be considered through appropriate channels."
