In June 2025, a record number of Xcite vehicles were sold through the Lada dealer network for the entire time the brand has been present on the Russian market. This is reported in the press release of AvtoVAZ's partner, received by Izvestia on July 2, 2025.

1,618 cars were sold during the month. The most popular was the mid-size family crossover X-Cross 7: its sales amounted to 1,307 units. The flagship X-Cross 8 sold 311 units. A total of 9523 vehicles have been sold on the Russian market since the start of sales of the Xcite brand.

The Xcite brand was created in 2024 by AvtoVAZ's partner, Avtozavod Saint Petersburg LLC. The cars are being assembled at the former Nissan plant, where a new joint project for the production of Lada Iskra cars will begin this fall. The Xcite model line includes two locally assembled crossovers, which are sold and serviced through Russia's largest Lada dealer network.

Dmitry Kostromin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at AvtoVAZ, denied rumors about the possible closure of the Xcite project.

On July 1, Anton Alikhanov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, said at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy that the ministry was exploring the possibility of obliging foreign automobile manufacturers to use Russian components when localizing cars in Russia.

Earlier this summer, Alikhanov said that the requirements for localization of cars in Russia may include the use of domestic body paint.
