- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the US Charge d'affaires after the suspension of arms supplies

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has summoned John Ginkel, Charge d'affaires of the United States in Ukraine, to discuss with the diplomat Washington's decision to stop military aid to Kiev. As reported on July 2 on the ministry's website, the Ukrainian side stressed that the delay in the supply of weapons would only worsen the situation at the front.
It is noted that the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Marianna Betsa thanked the United States for the support of Kiev.
"Betsa stressed the critical importance of continuing the supply of previously allocated defense packages, with a particular focus on strengthening Ukraine's air defense," the statement said.
They added that Ukraine supports peace efforts and the US position on ending the conflict, but believes that for this it is necessary to strengthen Kiev's defense capability so that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) continue to operate at the front.
On July 2, NBC News reported on the decision of the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, to suspend the supply of dozens of interceptor missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems, more than 100 Hellfire missiles, dozens of Stinger missiles, more than 250 guided precision-guided GMLRS projectiles and other types of weapons to Ukraine. According to media reports, the suspension of US supplies may last until the assessment of American weapons is completed.
As Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented, the suspension of United States supplies of ammunition to Ukraine means not only Washington's shortage of them, but also the hope for a faster end to the special military operation.
