The Hamas movement refused Trump's terms for a truce with Israel

The Hamas movement has declared its readiness to conclude a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, but not on the terms of US President Donald Trump. This was reported by the Associated Press on July 2.
"On Wednesday, the Hamas movement stated that it was open to a cease—fire agreement with Israel, but did not accept the US-backed proposal announced by US President Donald Trump a few hours earlier, insisting on its long-standing position that any agreement would end the war in Gaza," the material says.
The American leader stressed that Israel had agreed on the terms of a 60-day cease-fire in Gaza. He also called on the Hamas movement to accept them before the situation worsens. According to the head of the United States, an agreement can be reached allegedly as early as next week.
It clarifies that his proposal for a truce includes a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops from the Gaza Strip and an increase in humanitarian aid. At the same time, the United States and its intermediaries will provide guarantees regarding negotiations to end hostilities. As the agency emphasizes, Israel is not going to take on these obligations.
In its response, Hamas questioned whether there had been a real pause in the fighting, so the delegation is planning a meeting with Egyptian and Qatari mediators in Cairo.
Earlier, on July 1, Trump announced that Israel had agreed to terms for a 60-day cease-fire in the Gaza Strip during a meeting with representatives of the White House. He noted that during this period, the White House will maintain contacts with the parties in order to put an end to this conflict.
