AFD deputy called for lifting sanctions against Russia due to damage to Germany

It is necessary to lift the sanctions that harm Germany, as well as to return cheap and reliable Russian energy. This was stated on July 2 by the deputy of the Alternative for Germany party (AfD) Steffen Kotre in the German parliament.
"That's why we support the Stop Sanctions movement to give businesses a break and save jobs. It is absurd to deliver oil and gas by tanker, when it would be possible to receive them through pipelines much more environmentally friendly and, most importantly, more sustainable," he said, broadcasting the hearing on the Bundestag's official website.
According to Cotre, Germany's energy transition has been a complete failure. For example, in 25 years there have been no technologies aimed at storing unstable energy from "renewable sources". In addition, various projects, including the pipeline from Norway, have been removed from the agenda. Many of them are "collapsing one by one."
"Just open the reports — that's where the reality is, not the castles in the air that leftists and greens love to build," Coter emphasized.
Germany also continues to have laws restricting access to energy. There are also those that artificially increase its cost. According to Cotre, there is legislation in force in the country that gives the government extraordinary powers. He believes that they need to be eliminated.
Earlier, on February 21, the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group on the United States, Professor Harald Weiel, announced that the AFD would seek the lifting of sanctions against the Russian Federation. He also noted that the party supports the repair of the Nord Stream gas pipelines and the restoration of energy cooperation with Russia.
