Paramount agreed to pay Trump $16 million over Harris interview

The American company Paramount Global has agreed to settle the lawsuit of US President Donald Trump against the CBS News 60 Minutes TV channel owned by it because of an interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris and is ready to pay the head of the White House $ 16 million. This was reported on July 1 by the New York Times (NYT), citing a statement from the company.
"Paramount has announced that it has agreed to pay President Trump $16 million to settle his lawsuit over the editing of an interview on the CBS News program 60 Minutes... Paramount stated that its payment includes Trump's legal fees and expenses, and that the money, minus legal fees, will be paid to the future Trump presidential library," the publication says.
It is clarified that as part of the agreement reached, Paramount has committed to publish written transcripts of future 60 Minutes interviews with presidential candidates. It is noted that the agreement does not contain an apology clause.
On April 14, Trump accused the American television channel CBS News of manipulating information and said he was suing the 60 Minutes program so that the media could be deprived of broadcasting rights in the future. According to the US president, the journalists of the TV channel "did everything possible to illegally elect" Harris.
