The militarization of the European Union (EU) is qualitatively changing Russia's attitude towards unification. Moscow takes this into account in the military industry. This was stated on July 2 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

"We see that the militarization of the European Union is taking place. This qualitatively changes our attitude towards him, and this, of course, is taken into account in our military construction," Grushko said.

In addition, the deputy minister stressed that if the EU creates an organization similar to NATO on its base, this will create additional threats to Russia's security, and it will have to build protection against them.

Bloomberg reported on May 22 that the European Union is investing $45 million in a special European defense fund. It was clarified that this is the first time when the bloc seeks to improve the defense sector.

Later, on May 23, the High Representative of the UN Secretary General for the Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Angel Moratinos, said that the militarization of the political thinking of a number of European countries is a dangerous trend that causes concern.
