Last year, 255.1 million traffic violations were committed in Russia.

By the end of 2024, 255.1 million traffic violations were recorded in Russia, which is 6.3% more than a year earlier. This follows from an analysis of law enforcement practice published on July 1 by the Scientific Center for Road Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Most of the offenses (93% or 238.6 million cases) were detected by photo and video recording systems of traffic violations. Last year, the number of such stationary complexes increased by 11.2% (to 28.1 thousand units), while the number of mobile devices decreased by 5.5% (2.9 thousand units). The number of mobile complexes installed on board the vehicle increased by 8.7% to 900 units.

Fines are the main type of administrative penalties imposed for traffic violations — 253.5 of them were issued last year, and 9 out of 10 fines were issued based on data from photo and video recording systems. Penalties in the form of warnings were handed out to 250 thousand violators last year. once (-34.2%).

According to the results of last year, 298,631 traffic violators were deprived of their driver's licenses (-12.4%). 50.8% of them were left without a license for driving under the influence, 41.7% - for refusing a medical examination, 7% — for driving into the oncoming lane. Administrative arrest as a punishment for traffic violations was imposed 110,627 times last year (-12.4%).

On July 1, it became known that during the first month of summer, 2,074 accidents involving children and teenagers under 16 occurred on Russian roads, in which 76 minors died.
