The office of Karapetyan's company Tashir Group was searched in Yerevan

The office of Tashir Group, owned by arrested businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, is being searched in Yerevan. This was reported on July 2 by Sputnik Armenia agency with reference to the Investigative Committee (IC) of the country.

"The law enforcement agency clarified that urgent investigative actions are being carried out as part of a criminal case under investigation in the Investigative Committee," the publication says.

Karapetyan's detention became known on June 18, he was charged with calling for the seizure of power in Armenia and arrested for two months. Armenian politician Arman Abovyan called the businessman's detention an attempt to weaken the influence of the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC).

Later, on June 29, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the events in Armenia were an internal matter of the country, and Russia did not want to interfere. He noted that several million Armenians live in Russia, who are citizens of Russia and look at the events with pain.
