Western countries do not control the supply of weapons to Ukraine, which makes them complicit in waging a "hybrid war." This was announced on July 2 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, on Sputnik radio.

According to her, this is not about fulfilling contractual obligations, but about the initiative of the West aimed solely at confrontation with Russia.

"There were no contractual obligations. This is exclusively and only an initiative within the framework of conducting a hybrid war with our side, that's what we are talking about. They don't even care what it leads to at this stage. They have no control over the supply of weapons," Zakharova said.

She expressed the opinion that the West does not care about the possible leakage of supplied weapons. As the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted, the lack of a mechanism for accounting and control creates risks of illegal proliferation of weapons, including in the territories of the suppliers themselves.

In addition, Zakharova questioned the sincerity of statements about peace initiatives from NATO and the European Union (EU) countries. She noted that when discussing the situation on international platforms, the term "peace" does not become part of the general agenda.

On July 1, the head of the Pentagon's policy directorate, Elbridge Colby, decided to suspend supplies of anti-aircraft missiles and other precision-guided munitions to Kiev "due to concerns that US weapons stocks have decreased too much." According to sources, the decision was made in early June, but it came into force only this month.
