Forest fires on an area of 250 thousand hectares were eliminated in Transbaikalia


In the Trans-Baikal Territory, 16 fires were eliminated, the total area of which was 250 thousand hectares. This was reported on July 2 in the press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources.
"Over the past day, forest fire brigades have eliminated 16 fires with a total area of 250 thousand hectares in Tungir-Olekminsky, Akshinsky, Sretensky, Tungokochensky, Khiloksky and Chita districts," the press service said in a Telegram channel.
It is specified that eight more forest fires were localized on an area of 7 thousand hectares in the Kirinsky, Nerchinsky, Uletovsky and Tungiro-Olekminsky districts. The extinguishing of nine fires continues on an area of 1.4 thousand hectares in Borzinsky, Uletovsky, Khiloksky, as well as in Alexandrovo-Zavodsky and Tungiro-Olekminsky districts.
341 specialists and 50 pieces of equipment are working at the fire sites.
On June 30, the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, announced that the largest forest fire on an area of 220 thousand hectares in the region had been localized. According to him, the length of the edge of the fire is almost 300 km.
