- The fighters of the South group of forces told about their work in the Artyomovsky area

On July 2, Russian military personnel of the South group of forces told Izvestia about their work on the line of combat contact (LBF) in the Artemivsk area of the special military operation.
The engineering troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation are paving the way for the timely delivery of ammunition to the positions and evacuation of the wounded. Three groups of military personnel are involved in this — sappers, a group of cover from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and track laying.
Yegor Kildibekov, a correspondent for Izvestia, reported that construction equipment has to work next to the LBS accompanied by a sky observation group that provides protection from enemy drones. It consists of three people, one of them armed with a machine gun, two with hunting rifles.
"FPV drones often arrive and you have to drive with EW enabled. Guards also drive with guns and protect against the fact that the driver cannot keep track of everything, and also the system <...> and drone detectors are constantly with him to monitor everything," said the dump truck driver with the call sign Tourist.
Kildibekov noted that before entering the road of engineering equipment, the sapper groups, which work under the cover of the sky observation group, should conduct a survey of the area.
"We are conducting an IRD (engineering reconnaissance of roads), in order for the equipment to advance, so to speak, we did not suffer losses, less equipment was burned, thereby clearing the road. We work both in the rear and on the line of combat contact, close," said a soldier of the Southern Group of Forces with the call sign Kasper.
He noted that in the rear zone, unlike the LBF, the fighters have more time to think about their actions, since there are significantly more Ukrainian UAVs in the close zone.
Engineering equipment starts working at night, despite the fact that enemy drones can use thermal imagers to track equipment and personnel of the Russian Armed Forces. At this time, the sky observation group is monitoring the situation even more closely, the correspondent stressed.
"We are providing roads so that the wounded are taken out on time, so to speak, they are brought home in one piece. Also, to move our troops forward, we fill up the road from gaps, from any pits, trenches, remove old positions, and allow groups of troops to move forward. We have to work in different conditions," said a soldier of the South group of forces with the call sign Balu.
On July 1, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that the Russian Armed Forces had destroyed an armored vehicle of the International MaxxPro Ukrainian militants in the Sumy region of Ukraine. The ministry noted that the operator of the Rubicon kamikaze drone detected and eliminated the enemy's military transport.
