- Politico has learned about the suspension of supplies of anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine from the United States

The head of the Pentagon's political department, Elbridge Colby, decided to suspend the supply of anti-aircraft missiles and other precision-guided munitions to Kiev "due to concerns that US weapons stocks have decreased too much." This was reported by the Politico newspaper on July 1, citing sources.
"The decision was made <...> after an inspection of the Pentagon's ammunition stocks, which led to concerns that the total number of artillery shells, anti—aircraft missiles and precision-guided munitions [in the United States] was decreasing," the publication says.
According to sources, the decision was made in early June, but it came into force only this month. At the same time, as noted, neither the White House nor the Pentagon has officially commented on this information.
On June 20, Pentagon Adviser Dan Caldwell, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, suggested that Ukraine could be left without US military assistance amid the escalation of the conflict between Israel and Iran. According to him, Washington supplied Kiev with more artillery shells per month than it could produce, so US stocks were reduced to a minimum.
