The leader of the National Unification Party, Marine Le Pen, called on Paris to send €40 billion, which the country spends annually on the maintenance of migrants, to reduce the budget deficit. She wrote about this in a column for Le Figaro on July 1.

Le Pen said that at the end of June, the French Observatory for Immigration and Demography reported that immigration costs France 35-40 billion euros per year, which is a third of the annual budget revenue from income taxes and exceeds the annual budget of the Interior Ministry.

"€40 billion is exactly the amount that the government is trying to find in order to patch up the 2026 budget with additional taxes. There is no doubt that not a single euro of savings will be made in relation to our immigration policy, which has become an absolute taboo," she wrote.

The leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said on June 30 that the French authorities were doing the wrong thing by allocating billions to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the European Union (EU) and reducing medical support for their citizens.
