Deputies in France rejected the ninth vote of no confidence in Prime Minister Bayrou

Deputies of the French National Assembly at an open meeting did not support the vote of no confidence from the opposition left Socialist Party to Prime Minister Francois Bayreuth. The results of the open vote on July 1 were published on the website of the National Assembly.
"On Thursday, June 26, 2025, Boris Vallo and 65 of his colleagues filed a vote of censure in accordance with article 49, paragraph 2. On Tuesday, July 1, the Assembly rejected the bill," the publication says.
Thus, 189 people voted "for" the adoption of a vote of no confidence, and for a final positive decision it was necessary to gain 289 votes.
Initially, the vote was drawn up by the Socialist Party due to the refusal of Prime Minister Bayrou to return the retirement age to 62 after six months of consultations. Bayrou called the idea "unrealistic" and "inevitably costly."
French President Emmanuel Macron said on May 13 that the pension reform, which provides for an increase in the minimum retirement age from 62 to 64 years, will not be put to a referendum. He added that Bayrou had begun consultations with leading political forces and trade union centers on possible adjustments to the reform.
