On July 2, the Russian Ministry of Defense spoke about the exploits of Russian military personnel in the area of a special military operation (SVO).

The ministry noted the actions of the guard of junior Sergeant Andrei Kornienko, who, as part of an assault group, carried out the task of capturing a stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine near one of the settlements.

Despite the intense fire, the enemy attempted an attack using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Kornienko promptly eliminated the Ukrainian kamikaze drones using small arms, and also approached enemy positions and neutralized two Ukrainian militants. In addition, the junior sergeant, having gained a foothold in the captured position, continued to fight until the arrival of reinforcements from the Russian army.

As a result of Kornienko's courageous and selfless actions, the Russian Armed Forces managed to defeat the Ukrainian Armed Forces and gain a foothold in the defense areas, which contributed to advancing the offensive deep into the enemy's defenses.

The Ministry of Defense also drew attention to the actions of Guard Lieutenant Ivan Orlov, who, under artillery fire from the Ukrainian military, led a tank crew tasked with inflicting fire damage on the enemy. During the mission, Russian soldiers destroyed enemy equipment and 20 enemy fighters.

Returning to his starting positions, Orlov noticed a Ukrainian FPV drone, and the soldier promptly responded and eliminated it with a hunting rifle. As a result of the professional actions and commanding qualities of the lieutenant, the task was successfully completed. In addition, the assault units of the Russian Army managed to gain a foothold in new positions without loss of personnel.
