The Florida club has signed a one-year contract with Russian goalkeeper Tarasov.

The Florida Panthers of the National Hockey League (NHL) have signed a one-year contract with Russian goalkeeper Daniil Tarasov. This was announced by the team's press service on July 1.

"The club has agreed on the terms of a one—year contract with goalkeeper Daniil Tarasov," the club said in a statement posted on its official website.

Between 2021 and 2025, 26-year-old Tarasov played in 65 NHL games. He won a bronze medal representing Russia at the 2019 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships.

It is clarified that Tarasov was initially selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the fifth round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft (160th overall pick), and participated in 20 games for Columbus in the 2024/25 season. Tarasov's salary at Florida will be $1.05 million, Sport-Express added.

On June 30, it was reported that Russian hockey player Alexander Romanov signed an eight-year contract with the New York Islanders. It was specified that the total amount of the contract was $50 million, while Romanov's average annual salary was $6.25 million.
