President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko does not believe in the desire of a number of European leaders to end the conflict in Ukraine. He stated this on July 1 at a solemn meeting on the occasion of the Independence Day of the republic.

"But I don't believe that they (in the West. — Ed.) they want to end this conflict," the BelTA news agency quoted him as saying on the Telegram channel.

Lukashenko added that during a meeting with US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, he reminded the American side of Russian President Vladimir Putin's position on the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.

On June 24, Putin and Lukashenko held telephone talks. The heads of state exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East.
