A case of fraud in the construction of a fire tank was opened in Primorye

A criminal case of fraud has been opened in Primorsky Krai against the director of a company that carried out work on the construction of a fire tank. The regional prosecutor's office announced this on Tuesday, July 1.

In October 2024, the administration of the Nadezhdinsky rural settlement signed a contract with the company. The contractor needed to equip a fire tank in the village of Mirny.

"It has been established that the work was carried out in violation of design estimates and regulatory requirements. Despite this, the contractor received payment for actually completed work in the amount of more than 4 million rubles," the agency said in a statement.

A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud committed on an especially large scale." The person involved in it is the director of the contractor company.

In addition, according to PrimaMedia news agency, earlier, based on the materials of the prosecutor's check, a criminal case was initiated under paragraph "d" of Part 3 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Abuse of official authority". Currently, the agency is seeking recognition of the tender by definition of the contractor as invalid.
