Rabies quarantine lifted in Canton Commune in Amur Region

Rabies quarantine, which has been in effect for three months, has been lifted in the village of Canton, a commune of the Blagoveshchensk District of the Amur Region. This is reported by the regional veterinary department.

The disease was detected in April in a stray dog. She ran into the courtyard and bit another dog that was tied up.

According to PriamurMedia news agency, the bitten dog was under observation for a month. No new cases have been identified in the Canton Commune.

As of July 1, there are no more active rabies quarantines in the Amur Region.

On June 10, it was reported that a new case of rabies was detected in the Yalutorovsky municipal district of the Tyumen region. The territory has been quarantined.
