In the Kanevsky district of the Krasnodar Territory, a man beat his brother and mother to death with the armrest of a sofa. This was reported on July 1 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee for the region.

"An investigator from the Kanevsky interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Krasnodar Territory has charged a 46-year-old local resident with the murder of an elderly mother and brother," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that a conflict arose in the apartment between the defendant and his relatives, during which he beat his mother and brother to death with an armrest from the sofa. A week later, the neighbor became concerned that she had not seen the hostess of the house for a long time, and called law enforcement officers.

The department clarified that the man was detained. During the interrogation, he admitted his guilt.

Earlier that day, the Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg reported that in the Kolpinsky district, a man intoxicated inflicted at least 14 stab wounds on his wife in front of his young son, after which he hid the body in a sofa. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder").
