The statements of the British authorities about the alleged hostility of the intentions of the Russian Federation are false and have no basis in fact. This was announced on July 1 at the Russian Embassy in London.

It is noted that the embassy's statement is timed to coincide with the secret "Operation Unthinkable", which was never implemented and was part of Prime Minister Winston Churchill's plans to strike at the USSR on July 1, 1945.

"Paradoxically, 80 years later, the United Kingdom authorities, who have poorly learned the lessons of history, are trying to reconstruct that disturbing and dangerous reality," TASS quoted the Russian embassy as saying.

The statement clarifies that British politicians are spreading information in the public space about an alleged possible military conflict between the states, as well as "consolidating at the doctrinal level" false information about alleged possible threats to the security of the United Kingdom from the Russian Federation.

"The insinuations about Russia's hostile intentions are groundless and false. We call on the British government to come to its senses and curb its militaristic anti—Russian rhetoric," the statement said.

On June 25, the Russian Embassy in London announced that the UK had decided to continue further confrontation and escalate tensions with Russia. It is clarified that throughout history, it was the United Kingdom that started conflicts and acted as a generator of strategic provocations in the framework of relations with the Russian Federation.
