A monetization tool for bloggers that is gaining popularity has been named
Telegram is actively gaining popularity as a financial tool for bloggers: the platform's monetization market already exceeds 8.5 billion rubles per year. This is evidenced by a study by the Association of Bloggers and Agencies (ABA), which was reviewed by Izvestia on August 28.
To assess the market volume, the Tribute, Lava Top, Admaker Bot, Nemiling info, Paywall, Toolsy and VipSub platforms were studied. Each of the sites received a profile based on six parameters, including the number of users, turnover, and ease of configuration.
It turned out that over the past six months, at least 1.65 million users and more than 100,000 authors have used monetization on the platform. The most popular service at the moment is Tribute, which has been officially verified by Telegram. It accounts for 59% of the total market turnover (about 5 billion rubles per year). This is followed by Lava Top, which occupies 35% of the market volume (about 3 billion rubles per year).
"Previously, Russian bloggers could earn money by monetizing content on foreign social networks, but today they are deprived of this opportunity. (...) As a result, Telegram, and within it, in fact, a whole new ecosystem of services, organically occupied this niche," said Timur Akhmedov, Executive Director of ABA.
In July, a similar study was presented by the WildJam agency. It was noted that due to the law prohibiting advertising on information resources of extremist and undesirable organizations, influencers and companies increasingly began to choose Telegram as a more permanent and flexible platform.
