Investigators have opened a criminal case into the death of a girl as a result of poisoning at a summer camp in the Republic of Khakassia. This was announced on July 1 by the Main Investigative Directorate (GSO) of the Investigative Committee of Russia (IC RF) for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia in the Telegram channel.

"A criminal case has been opened into negligent homicide in connection with the death of a 10-year—old girl at a summer camp (Part 1 of Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the publication says.

It is specified that after the girl complained on June 26 of feeling unwell, nausea and fever, she was admitted to the hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of poisoning with an unidentified substance. Later, on July 1, the child's condition worsened and she died.

According to the press service of the department, to determine the cause of death, law enforcement officers ordered a forensic medical examination. At the moment, the circumstances of the incident are being clarified. In addition, it is planned to assess the quality of services provided at the health facility.

Earlier, on June 27, a child died in the Saratov region after being hospitalized with poisoning. At that time, three children with the same symptoms were admitted to the hospital. It was reported that the fact will be checked by the prosecutor's office of the Rivne region.
