There have been 305 road accidents in Russia over the past 24 hours.


Over the past day, 305 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 41 people were killed and 381 injured. Six of the dead were pedestrians, the remaining 35 were drivers and passengers of vehicles. This was reported to Izvestia on July 1 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
As a result of 78 accidents, 29 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 49 outside their area of operation, 76 pedestrians were injured of varying severity. Among the injured were 19 underage pedestrians, 16 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.
63 accidents involving minors were registered on Russian roads over the past day, as a result of which 66 young road users were injured, including 32 passengers, six cyclists and seven motor transport drivers. 10 children were killed: seven child passengers, two pedestrians and one motor vehicle driver.
So, in Bashkiria, late in the evening, on 179 km of the Ufa— Birsk—Yanaul regional highway, a 14-year-old schoolboy without a driver's license and a motorcycle helmet, driving a cross-country pit bike, drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a passenger car. The accident killed not only himself, but also his peer, a passenger.
A pit bike was given to the deceased teenager by his parents for the New Year. In early April, a young motor vehicle driver was already detained for driving it on public roads, after which administrative material was drawn up against his parents for failing to fulfill their duties on the maintenance and upbringing of a minor, as well as for transferring control of a vehicle to a person who obviously does not have such a right.
In Dagestan, near Kizilyurt, on a highway of regional significance, a 15-year-old driver of a passenger car, which he took without permission from his relative for a ride at night with classmates, lost control, drove off the road and crashed into a tree. As a result of the accident, two of his fellow passengers were killed. The perpetrator of the incident and his third young passenger ended up in the hospital.
In the city of Asha, Chelyabinsk region, a 67-year—old passenger car driver ran over two pedestrians in the morning - a mother and her four-year-old son, who were crossing the roadway at an unregulated pedestrian crossing. The child died, the woman was hospitalized with injuries. The elderly motorist initially fled the scene of the accident, but was later tracked down by police officers. According to him, when he noticed pedestrians in front of him, he could not stop in time, because he confused the brake pedal with the gas pedal.
In the Stavropol Territory, late in the evening, on a regional highway, a 31-year-old SUV driver ran over a 14-year-old schoolboy pedestrian who was walking along the roadway unaccompanied by adults. The teenager died. According to the motorist, he was blinded by the headlights of an oncoming car, and he did not see a young pedestrian on the road in time, who was wearing dark clothes without any reflective elements on it.
In the Orenburg region, during the daytime, on 30 km of the federal highway R-239 "Orenburg City Bypass", a 37-year-old truck driver, as a result of depressurization of the left front wheel, ran over the cable fence of the road, then drove into the oncoming lane, where he collided with a crossover driven by a 44-year-old female driver. After that, both cars crashed into the road fence, drove off the road and overturned. The driver of the crossover and her six-year-old daughter, a passenger, were killed in the accident. The truck driver was hospitalized.
In the Altai Territory, on 187 km of the FAD A-322 Barnaul — Rubtsovsk — border with the Republic of Kazakhstan, a 45-year-old passenger car driver drove into the oncoming lane while overtaking a truck and collided with a minivan. As a result of the accident, the drivers of both vehicles, the passenger of the minivan, as well as three minor passengers of the car of the culprit of the collision were killed — two boys born in 2017 and 2018 and a girl born in 2013. Four other passengers from the same car, including two minors, were injured and were hospitalized.
The State Traffic Inspectorate urged not to leave car and motor vehicle keys for children, and to monitor children's leisure time, especially in the evening, in order to avoid the risk of accidents involving them.
"We urge parents to show attention and care to children: by your example, you influence their behavior on the road, so strictly follow the Rules of the road. When walking at night and in conditions of insufficient visibility, be sure to use retroreflective elements on your clothes and children's clothes and always monitor their wearing," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
On June 16, it was reported that the number of people killed in road accidents in Russia has decreased with an increase in the number of accidents. So, from January to May 2025, 44.4 thousand deaths occurred in Russia. Accidents with deaths or injuries, which is 0.7% more than in the same period last year. The number of dead in them amounted to 4.6 thousand people (-1.9%), and the wounded — 55.7 thousand people (+0.5%).
