HC CSKA has signed a one-year contract with former Ottawa striker Sokolov.


Hockey club (HC) CSKA has signed a contract with Russian striker Egor Sokolov. This was announced by the team's press service on July 1.
"CSKA has signed a one-year contract with Egor Sokolov. Earlier, the army club received the rights to the striker as part of an exchange with Avtomobilist," the Telegram channel notes.
It is specified that Sokolov played for Traktor Chelyabinsk at the junior and youth levels. Since the 2017/18 season, he has played in the North American leagues, with 13 appearances in the National Hockey League (NHL).
In addition, the striker has previously repeatedly played for the Russian national team, in 2020 he won silver at the World Youth Championship.
On June 2, HC CSKA announced that goalkeeper Pavel Khomchenko, defenders Fredrik Klasson and Christian Yarosh, as well as forwards Stanislav Galiev and Rourke Chartier had left the team due to the completion of contracts.
