- Alikhanov announced the upcoming flight of the import-substituted MC-21 in August.

The fully import-substituted MC-21 aircraft will take to the skies in August. This was announced on July 1 at a meeting of the Federation Council Committee on economic policy by the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov.
"In August, we plan <...> to launch a fully import-substituted aircraft with all domestic systems, now it is already flying on PD—14 [engines]," the minister said.
He added that all the necessary tests and preparations for the flight are on schedule, and expressed confidence in the successful implementation of the import substitution program.
On June 26, Rostec specialists began certification tests of a prototype MC-21 medium-range aircraft with Russian systems and assemblies. During the tests, the radio communication equipment was tested. The airliner stayed in the air for four hours, periodically changing altitude.
