The area of forest fires in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug has halved in a day, from 140 hectares to 66 hectares. This was announced on Tuesday, July 1, according to the press service of the Department of Subsoil Use and Natural Resources of the region.

Currently, three forest fires have been registered in the autonomous region: two in the Soviet forestry and one in Kondinsky. The total area of the fire is 66.3 hectares.

Earlier, two forest fires with a total area of 141.5 hectares were recorded in Yugra. They arose due to the lack of rain and thunderstorms.

According to weather forecasts, abnormal heat is expected in the first days of July in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. From July 1 to July 3, there will be occasional showers and thunderstorms.
