Poland will introduce temporary border controls with Germany and Lithuania on July 7 due to the large number of migrants. This was announced on July 1 by Prime Minister of the Republic Donald Tusk.

"We are restoring temporary border controls with Germany and Lithuania. The decision was made today, and it will take effect on Monday, July 7," Tusk told reporters, as quoted by the newspaper. Gazeta.pl .

As the politician noted, he warned Germany about the planned actions back in March. He pointed out that Warsaw's patience with migration issues is "running out," especially after the change in practice — it is now becoming more difficult to determine whether other countries really should have returned migrants to Poland.

On June 11, Tusk announced that migration was growing, and every group of arrivals sent back from Germany would be carefully monitored.

The head of the Polish government stated back in February that the country would not accept migrants, observing the migration pact adopted by the European Union (EU). He added that the crime rate in Poland is due to the influx of foreigners.
