The Russian Foreign Ministry pointed to attempts by individual forces to split relations between Moscow and Baku.

Some forces are trying to split relations between Russia and Azerbaijan, and Moscow is bringing its approaches to Baku in order to minimize damage to the dialogue. This was announced on July 1 by Dmitry Masyuk, Deputy Director of the Fourth CIS Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We are witnessing the active efforts of individual forces to split our relations with Baku. <...> For our part, we consistently bring our principled approach to our Azerbaijani partners in order to neutralize the damage to our bilateral relations with Baku," the deputy minister said at the opening of the scientific and educational program of the Gorchakov Foundation "Caucasian Dialogue" at the Mashuk Knowledge Center.".
