Scammers have developed a new scheme to cheat by watching movies together

Scammers have started using a new method of deception related to watching movies on online platforms. This was announced on July 1 by F6, a cybersecurity company.
"Scammers have developed a new scheme to deceive Russians: They offer the victim to spend the evening watching a movie together on a special Internet platform and send them a fake link to connect, which requires them to pay for a subscription," the company told RIA Novosti.
It is clarified that the attackers, acting on behalf of an attractive girl from a large city, post a fake profile on social networks, on a dating site or in a special Telegram bot. When meeting a potential victim, they are offered to watch a movie together in a special application.
Then the scammers send a link, upon clicking on which they receive an offer to pay for a subscription. After entering the bank card data, the attackers immediately get the opportunity to steal the victim's funds.
On June 29, the Russian Interior Ministry reported on popular fraud schemes through payment platforms. The most common are the creation by fraudsters of copies of popular online stores, the use of legal real estate sites to redirect victims to fake sites using personal messages, as well as the use of fake sites and Telegram bots to deceive under the pretext of selling goods and services.
