Navrotsky pointed to Ukraine's failure to fulfill the conditions for joining the EU

Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU) cannot be seriously discussed, as the country has not fulfilled the conditions for integration into the union. This was stated by Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki in an interview with Polsat TV channel on July 1.
"Now is not the time to seriously talk about Ukraine's accession to the EU," Navrotsky said.
The politician stressed that he opposes Ukraine's accession to the EU "without any conditions." Navrotsky also noted that "Ukraine's membership in the Western world" meets Poland's interests.
"I have no doubt that, in a geopolitical and strategic sense, we need cooperation with Ukraine, but it must be carried out on a partnership basis," he added.
In addition, the Polish president-elect clarified that Ukraine's accession to NATO is currently impossible.
On June 7, Navrotsky spoke out against Ukraine's accession to the EU. At the same time, he noted that Poland, as a state, "needs to support Ukraine from a strategic and geopolitical point of view."
