In the Kolpinsky district of St. Petersburg, a man intoxicated inflicted at least 14 stab wounds on his wife in front of his young son, after which he hid the body in a sofa. This was reported on July 1 in the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city.
"According to the investigation, on the evening of June 30, an intoxicated attacker stabbed his wife at least 14 times in the head and neck area in an apartment on Sevastyanova Street in Kolpino, after which he placed the woman's body in a sofa drawer. Their young son witnessed the incident," the department's Telegram channel clarified.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"). The man has been detained, and charges will be brought against him in the near future and a preventive measure will be chosen.
Law enforcement officers continue to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
On June 6, in Buryatia, Maria Lubsanova, who was a volunteer of the Lisa Alert detachment with the call sign Manyunya, was stabbed to death by her ex-husband out of jealousy. It was noted that the man took the woman to the forest near the village of Klyuchi and attacked her with a knife. After committing the crime, he committed suicide.
