GAC introduces a four-bed "office on wheels" in Russia

Sales of the new flagship version of the premium minivan GAC M8 Lounge with a four-seat cabin layout have begun in Russia. The cost of the model is 7.5 million rubles, the company said in a statement, which was received by Izvestia on July 1.

The company calls the M8 Lounge an "office on wheels." The second row seats are separated by a soundproof partition, which has a built-in 34-inch multimedia system screen for passengers. Behind the screen is an electrochromic glass with a dimming function. An independent audio system with 13 speakers, including a subwoofer, is also available for rear passengers.

Wide seats with an "aviation" profile are installed in the second row, which are laid out in a horizontal position. They are adjustable in ten directions, including electric adjustment of the headrest and ottomans in four directions. Ventilation, heating and massage function are provided. Each seat has its own wireless charging for a smartphone, USB connectors and tables.

A mini-bar with a refrigerator (up to -10°C) is built into the partition. The equipment includes a ceiling with a Starry Sky backlight, air aromatization in the cabin and three-zone climate control. The decoration uses decorative elements with an agate wood texture and gray chrome inserts. The minivan is available in three body colors (white, black, and gold) and two interior options (light and brown).

The length of the GAC M8 Lounge is 5212 mm with a wheelbase of 3070 mm. A two-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 231 hp (380 Nm) is installed under the hood, it is combined with an Aisin 8-speed automatic. The electromagnetic suspension is responsible for smooth running. The average fuel consumption is 9.7 liters per 100 km.

Earlier, on June 27, GAC announced that the GS8 Dragon crossover will go on sale in Russia in early July, with a minimum price of 4.6 million rubles. The model will be offered with both a standard 231-horsepower two-liter turbo engine and a new 427-horsepower hybrid powerplant that includes a two-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor.
