On Tuesday, July 1, the FSB of Russia showed a video showing a cache of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with ammunition containing the toxic substance chlorpicrin found in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR).

Kiev's use of chemical weapons in the area of a special military operation (SVO) occurs systematically, and as the Russian Armed Forces (AF) advance, this kind of inhumane activity on the Ukrainian side increases, the ministry noted.

According to the FSB of the Russian Federation, this year two caches of ammunition were found on the territory of the DPR, prepared by the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the dropping of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on the positions of Russian military personnel, equipped with chloropicrin.

It is specified that the use of this substance leads to acute irritation of the mucous membrane of the eyes and respiratory organs of a person, including a suffocating effect, up to a fatal outcome.

On the same day, the FSB's Public Relations Center reported that Ukrainian explosive devices containing chloropicrin, which is prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention, had been found in the DPR for the purpose of dropping UAVs A criminal case has been opened under Article 355 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Development, production, accumulation, acquisition or sale of weapons of mass destruction").
