Dana the orangutan in Taigan Park became ill after a vaping incident

Dana the orangutan, who had been given a vape by a visitor to the Taigan Park in Crimea the day before, felt unwell, but now she feels better. Footage of the monkey was shown on July 1 by Izvestia.
According to Izvestia correspondent Oleg Zaikovsky, now the monkey is walking around the enclosure and even trying to get the greenery through the bars. Doctors continue to monitor Dana's condition.
"Veterinarians are afraid that the plastic fragment of the electronic cigarette that Dana swallowed may cause digestive problems," Zaikovsky said.
Plastic, when exposed to stomach and intestinal acids, begins to release dangerous substances that can poison Dana's body, said veterinarian Vasily Piskovoy. He added that the animal lies covered with a towel all day. There is a suspicion of poisoning and the presence of a foreign object in the intestine.
On June 30, a visitor to the Taigan Park gave an orangutan a taste of vaping. The girl noted that she had a negative attitude towards vapes and followed the bad example of other vacationers in the park.
