The New Year holidays in 2026 will last 12 days — from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026. The Ministry of Labor announced this on July 1 in its Telegram channel, presenting a draft calendar of holidays and weekends for 2026.

"Thanks to the postponement, the New Year holidays will last 12 days — from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026. There will be three days off five times next year: in February, March, twice in May and on Russia Day in June," Anton Kotyakov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, said in a statement.

According to him, the Russian government adopts an annual resolution on the postponement of days off that fall on public holidays. It is performed in such a way as to effectively allocate time for work and rest. Whenever possible, when drafting a resolution, they also try to combine holidays and weekends.

In February, Russians will rest for three days in a row — February 21-23. In March, citizens will also have a three-day weekend from March 7 to March 9. In May, the vacation will be divided into two segments, twice for three days — from 1 to 3 May and from 9 to 11 May.

In June, the weekend will be from June 12 to June 14, and in November, Russians will have one holiday day off on the 4th.

State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab told on June 19 when a woman has the right to additional breaks from work. She clarified that they are prescribed for women with children under one and a half years old. If there are two or more children, the break increases to an hour, the deputy added.
