US President Donald Trump has called on the US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to check subsidies for American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk for electric vehicles. He wrote about this on July 1 on the Truth Social network.

"Elon could have received more subsidies than any other person in history, of course, without subsidies, Elon would probably have to close the store and return home to South Africa. <...> Maybe we should force DOGE to take a hard look at this," he wrote. Him.

Trump added that Musk had always been aware of his position on subsidizing electric vehicles — there was no need to force everyone to choose just such cars. According to the president, the United States would have saved "a fortune" if it had not spent on such financing.

Musk said on June 28 that Trump's new bill to increase government spending would lead the country into debt slavery. He noted that this project would reduce the number of jobs and cause strategic damage to many modern industries.
