At least six trade pavilions burned down as a result of a missile strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the center of Donetsk. Footage from the scene on July 1 is published by Izvestia.

"One of the rockets hit right in the very center of the shopping pavilions, and a fire started. The staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations tried to localize the fire until late at night, but, unfortunately, at least six trade pavilions completely burned down," said Izvestia correspondent Evgeny Bykovsky.

He added that as a result of the shelling, other trade pavilions were also damaged. Some have broken windows and melted plastic paneling.

"During the inspection of the scene, it was established that the enemy was firing at a peaceful neighborhood where there are no weapons and military equipment," said an employee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to him, the Ukrainian militants used high-precision cruise missiles Storm Shadow. The fragments will be submitted for examination to clarify the type and modification of weapons. He clarified that as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike, residential buildings housing civilians were also damaged.

The head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin reported on the eve of one dead and two wounded civilians as a result of the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on Donetsk. A fire broke out in the shopping malls in the city center due to an attack by Ukrainian militants.
