The media learned about Charles III's decision to abandon the royal train

King Charles III of Great Britain decided to abandon the operation of a private royal train in order to modernize the monarchy and reduce costs. This was reported on June 30 by The Guardian newspaper with reference to the keeper of the personal treasury of the royal family, James Chalmers.
The publication clarified that the train has been used to transport the British royal family since 1840 and has been a part of national life for several decades. However, its maintenance became more and more expensive.
"It's time to say goodbye in the warmest possible way, as we strive for discipline and foresight in allocating funding," Chalmers said.
According to him, the royal family "must move forward" and not be associated with the past. He clarified that the decision to abandon the train was another aspect of the work of the royal court, which aims to adapt to modern realities.
As emphasized in the publication, it required updating to comply with modern railway networks. Two new, more economical helicopters offer a suitable alternative. The train will be disassembled, its historical parts of the train will be moved to storage locations. A search is underway for a long-term museum house.
The Telegraph newspaper learned on May 30 that the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, presented Charles III with a Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II car. The publication noted that the car, which can run on both gasoline and biofuels, was delivered to the royal fleet not for personal use, but for official use.
