Soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces evacuated the captured Leopard 2A6 AFU tank from the Kursk region

Servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces evacuated another captured tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) model Leopard 2A6, which was shot down in winter during the fighting to oust the enemy from the Kursk border region. Footage of the tank's transportation on July 1 was shown by the Russian Defense Ministry.

According to the operator of the UAV of a separate reconnaissance battalion of the Tula Guards Airborne unit with the call sign Zyaba, who, along with his colleagues, destroyed this vehicle, the tank was shot down using an FPV drone. According to him, the impact hit the engine and engine compartments, after which the equipment caught fire.

The foreman of the repair company of the Guards Parachute regiment with the call sign Putevy added that the operation to evacuate the tank had been underway for two months, and noted that the approximate coordinates of the equipment were located by his unit either independently or provided by intelligence and UAV operators.

"The tank is in good condition, the engine is starting, the weapon system is working, it was checked. That is, the Leopard tower turns left and right," said the commander of the repair company of the Guards Parachute regiment with the call sign Raccoon.

He also noted that sappers, engineers and employees in the field of electronic warfare (EW) are also involved in such work.

According to Raccoon, at least 20 units of captured military equipment were evacuated in this direction alone, which were abandoned by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the retreat. The trophies included such vehicles as T-64 and 2C1 Gvozdika tanks, highly mobile Humvee multi-purpose wheeled vehicles, Kirpi armored vehicles, M113 armored personnel carriers and others.

On June 28, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of the evacuation of another captured Leopard 2 tank from the territory of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). The vehicle, as specified, was captured in full working condition near Krasnoarmeysk.
