- The State Department has approved the sale of $510 million worth of precision bomb equipment to Israel.

The US State Department has approved a deal on the possible sale of precision-guided munitions equipment and technical support to Israel in the amount of $510 million. This was announced on June 30 by the Pentagon's Defense and Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).
"The State Department has decided to approve the possible foreign military sale to the Government of Israel of ammunition guidance and support kits and related equipment for an estimated cost of $510 million," the department said in a statement.
It is noted that Israel has requested to purchase at least 3.8 thousand KMU-558B/B direct Attack Ammunition Guidance kits (JDAM) for the BLU-109 bomb body and 3.2 thousand JDAM KMU-572 F/B guidance kits for the MK 82 bomb body. Logistics, engineering and technical services will be included in the proposed deal.
"The proposed sale of this equipment and support will not change the basic military balance in the region," the agency said.
On June 12, the US State Department approved the sale of an air–to-ground missile to the Netherlands in the amount of $215 million. Thus, the deal will include: AGM-179 JAGM Captive Air (CATM) training missiles, technical assistance, missile handling training, classified and unclassified publications and other related elements of the program and logistical support.
