The state Commission has allocated a radio frequency band for 5G


The State Commission on Radio Frequencies (SCR) has allocated the 4,800-4,990 MHz frequency band for the construction of 5G communication networks. This was announced on June 30 on the website of the Ministry of Finance of Russia.
"Based on this decision, the Ministry of Finance will approve an order to hold auctions in this range. The order will set out the conditions and the starting price of the lots," the message says.
The ministry stressed that the solution will facilitate the introduction of innovative high-speed communication services based on 5G technology.
On June 6, Dmitry Grigorenko, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation, said that more than 90% of the Russian population has access to 4G mobile communications, but the country needs to switch to 5G for the development of digital technologies.
